Ceri was a small, scruffy puppy with a heart full of hope. He had been a stray for as long as he could remember, living a life of uncertainty and hunger. Today was his birthday, and all he wanted was a full meal.
The day started like any other for Ceri. He woke up early, his stomach growling with hunger. He searched the streets for scraps of food, but found nothing. As the day wore on, Ceri’s hope began to dwindle. He was tired and weak, and he just wanted to curl up somewhere and sleep.
As the sun began to set, Ceri found himself in front of a small, cozy house. The smell of food wafted through the open window, making his stomach growl even louder. He hesitated for a moment, but then he decided to take a chance. He sat down in front of the house and waited.
After what felt like hours, a kind-looking woman opened the door. She saw Ceri sitting there, looking sad and forlorn. She couldn’t resist. She went inside and brought out a bowl of food. Ceri gobbled it up in seconds, his hunger finally satisfied.
The woman smiled and petted Ceri’s head. “You’re such a sweet boy,” she said. “Would you like to come inside and warm up?”
Ceri’s heart filled with joy. He had found a friend, and maybe even a home. As he followed the woman inside, he knew that his birthday had turned out to be a lot better than he had expected.
