The poor dog’s desperate cry for help
A distressing image reached the Stray Rescue of St. Louis (SRSL) team – a dog lying helplessly on a pile of lumber, the victim of a senseless act of violence. The accompanying message was stark: “Dog shot, needs help.”
Without hesitation, SRSL rescuers rushed to the scene. The dog, later named Propeller, was a picture of vulnerability. Her eyes, filled with fear and pain, pleaded for assistance. The rescue team gently lifted her from the perilous situation and transported her to safety.
A Second Chance at Life
At the SRSL veterinary clinic, Propeller received immediate medical attention. The extent of her injuries was assessed, and the team breathed a sigh of relief. While the shrapnel lodged in her leg was cause for concern, it had miraculously missed vital organs and joints.
The road to recovery began with surgery to remove the foreign object. Propeller endured the procedure with remarkable strength, displaying a resilience that defied her ordeal.
